Introduction to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga
Tuesday November 28th from 7-9pm
YOGA MALA – Introduction to Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga with Monika Bobkowska
Exploration of the theory and practice of the basic principles of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga.
The workshop is suitable for all yoga beginners and practitioners who have a curiosity and questions about yoga practice.
Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic yoga exercise class practiced in its correct sequential order. Ashtanga Yoga gradually leads you to rediscover your fullest potential on all levels of human consciousness – physical, psychological and spiritual. Method of self-exploration and transformation helps integrate the male and female (ha / tha) energies of the body.
Through this practice of correct breathing (Ujjayi Pranayama), postures (asanas), and gazing point (Drishti), we gain control of the senses and a deep awareness of ourselves. By maintaining this discipline with regularity and devotion, one acquires steadiness of body and mind.
Strength, stamina, and sweat are unique aspects of this traditional Yoga, seemingly contrary to Western perceptions of Yoga. This demanding practice requires considerable effort and taps into and circulates a vital energy throughout the body, strengthening and purifying the nervous system.
The workshop is lead by Monika Bobkowska, an experienced yoga teacher, Ayurvedic therapist and bodyworker. She has been practicing Yoga since 1998. Monika spends a lot of time in India and graduated her teacher training in the traditional Ashtanga Vinyasa System T. Krishnamacharya include pranayama, mudra and several eastern and western techniques working with the body and mind.

This 2-hour workshop will start with a heartwarming, dynamic and owing vinyasa sequence. It will work on creating heat and sparking of our inner re.
The sequence will slow down and end in some asananas that will be held for a bit longer (Yin Yoga postures), to allow ourselves to turn our focus inwards and make a connection.
