Tarpana is a unique procedure where ghee is retained over the eyes for a specific amount of time. The medicated ghee nourishes and strengthens the eye muscles, improves clarity of vision and supports the tear producing glands.
The head, eyes and face are gently massaged before a frame made of lentil flour is set around both eyes. The frame is filled with ghee. Once the eyes are covered with the ghee, the patient opens and closes them several times before the ghee is removed
