For Niti, it started in her final year of studying Nutrition and Media & Communication at university. She sat in on a seminar about Ayurvedic Nutrition, an hour that left a deep impression on her and changed the course of her life.
Ayurveda seemed like a vast new ocean to her, deep and brimming with life. On an intuition, after university, she took a year off and spent time at Vaidyagrama, a traditional Ayurvedic hospital in South India. There, under the tutelage of Dr. Ramdas, she gained first-hand knowledge and learned how to blend ancient Ayurveda with modern Nutrition Studies. That was the beginning, as if dipping just a single toe in the water. Niti had to know more.
After returning to Australia and finding difficulty securing a job in as a Nutritionist, Niti landed a job on the front of house team at Back2Health, and was in total bliss. Niti grabbed this opportunity to learn under Jo Formosa and also simultaneously study for an Advanced Diploma of Ayurveda. As a core member of the therapist team at Back2Health, Niti became proficient in all the main Ayurvedic treatments – marma massage, pindaswedana, siddha paste massage, shirodhara and kati basti. Moreover she specialised in musculoskeletal issues, detox programs, pregnancy and post-natal care, stress and anxiety conditions. Towards the end of her 4-year stint at Back2Health, Niti was responsible for training a number of doctors and therapists to ensure a high standard of care was given to all clients.
Niti was also responsible for other activities which included: wellness presentations, detox cooking, private cooking consultations and dietary modifications. She looks forward to helping clients of The Alternative Healthcare integrate Ayurveda into their lives, and infusing her passion for Ayurveda into everyone she meets.
