Dr Shine Babu, our resident Acupuncturist and Therapeutic Yoga teacher, is a descendant of a long family line of spiritual healers and Yogic practitioners, his life long exposure to integrated natural medicines began in early childhood in Kerala, known as The land of Ayurveda and Yoga, in India.
Dr Shine Babu has over 8 years of experience in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture , Therapeutic Yoga and Exercise Physiotherapy. Dr shine began his collegiate studies in Acupuncture, Yogic Science and Physiotherapy in 2006 at the prestigious Rajiv Gandhi University of Medical Sciences, Banglore.
After graduation he continued his professional development as a medical intern at S.D.M Yoga & Nature Cure hospital in the south of India. With this education and hands-on experience, he seamlessly assumed his position as a clinical Acupuncturist and Therapeutic Yoga Teacher at the Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, a 1,450-bed hospital in the south of India, thereafter refining his skills in the hospitality industry at the Hilton Shillim Estate Retreat & Spa, one of India’s largest spa and wellness resort destinations, as well as at Maalifushi by Como in the Maldives, one of the world’s leading wellness Yoga retreats.
Dr Shine specialises in the prevention and reversal of degenerative and metabolic disorders, chronic pain and stress management by combining modern science-based technologies and traditional therapeutic modalities. His strong background in Traditional Chinese Acupuncture, Yoga & Exercise Physiotherapy, combined with his experience in both hospitals and resorts, lends Dr shine a great perspective in assisting each individual with their practice.
Both classes and and private sessions led by Dr Shine emphasise traditional Hatha Yoga as well as incorporating Iyengar postures and alignment techniques.
